Shellee Heil Shaw was raised on an Idaho cattle ranch. She spent her youth on the back of a horse working cattle and developing her horse training skills. At an early age she began successfully competing at junior rodeos. From breakaway roping, goat tying to barrel racing, she excelled in her chosen rodeo events. By the age of 18, Shellee had won 13 All-Around Cowgirl saddles and many more titles. She was well on her way to a successful rodeo career. In 1998, Shellee was crowned the acclaimed WPRA Rookie of the Year title in barrel racing. Shellee has qualified for five consecutive Canadian Finals Rodeos, until 2002 when she began to focus more on training barrel horses and spending time with her family. The majority of Shellee's successes were, and still are, on horses she has selected and trained herself.
Shellee is married to accomplished Two-Time Canadian Champion Calf Roper, Darren Shaw. They are blessed with two children, Tacee Jae and Jade Ryan. She also enjoys the business side of the horse industry. As a senior in high school, Shellee was elected student secretary for the National High School Rodeo Association and enjoyed being involved in the administration of one of the largest youth organizations in the world.
Shellee studied Business Management at Idaho State University and has owned, operated and managed several successful businesses in her career. Shellee currently is the Program Administrator for the Westwind Rodeo Academy. She also teaches periodically at the Rodeo Academy and participates as an Equine Specialist in the therapy sessions. Shellee’s focus is on building the Westwind Rodeo Academy and all of the divisions into a very successful business serving the needs of local residents and visitors from afar.

Darren Shaw grew up on the back of a horse and always had a passion for horses and rodeo. He was very successful in high school and college rodeo winning numerous titles, buckles and saddles. From there Darren went on to a very successful amateur and professional rodeo career.
Darren attended the college of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls on a full ride rodeo scholarship. He was a member of the rodeo team and qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo 3 times. He then went on to start a business called Royal Canadian Rope Company, which manufactured ropes for cowboys to use in the rodeo arena and on the ranch. He also attended horse-shoeing school in Oklahoma and shod his and Shellee’s horses while they were rodeoing for a living.
Darren successfully managed Royal Canadian Rope Company and competed in professional rodeo for over 12 years. During his rodeo career he was crowned the Canadian Champion Calf Roping Title two times and was also crowned the Canadian High Point Championship. He also served two terms as the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Calf Roping Director, a very important and critical role in the administration of the CPRA.
Following his rodeo career, he attended the Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana and now works as a professional cattle auctioneer. He also uses his wealth of knowledge in the cattle and horse industry to manage the Cattle and Horse program for the Westwind Rodeo Academy.
From time to time Darren guest instructs for the Rodeo Sports Performance Division. With his wealth of knowledge related to horses, rodeo, cattle, lariat manufacturing, horse shoeing and auctioneering, Darren is a great asset to the development and sustainability of the Westwind Rodeo Academy.

Rodeo Sports Performance Administrator/Instructor
Bob began his rodeo career while attending Utah State University at Logan, Utah. There he obtained a B.Sc. and a B.Ed. degree and has been in the education field ever since. Bob competed in the calf roping, steer wrestling and bull riding at the National Intercollegiate Finals Rodeo in Deadwood, South Dakota. He also completed in four events; the calf roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding and bull riding for Rodeo Far West which produced rodeos in Europe, Italy, Switzerland, France and Germany. Bob qualified in the steer wrestling and bull riding for the Canadian Finals Rodeo.
Bob was crowned the North American Calf Roping Championship at the NARC Finals held in Gallup, New Mexico. He was one of the co-founders of the Alberta High School Rodeo Association and was instrumental in getting Alberta's membership in the National High School Rodeo Association, of which he served as Alberta's National Director. Bob has won numerous Championships in the Chinook Rodeo Association, Canadian Cowboys Association and the Foothills Cowboys Association. Currently he is responsible for coordinating, managing and running the timed events at the Canadian Finals Rodeo, which he has done for the past four years.
Bob is the Administrator for the Rodeo Sports Performance Division of the Westwind Rodeo Academy and teaches all of the mens timed events and breakaway roping for both boys and girls.

Monica Wilson grew up on one of the largest ranches in B.C. where she learned at an early age how to break and train horses. She was one of the founders of the B.C. High School Rodeo Association. She eventually moved to Cardston and began her successful rodeo career. She turned professional in 1990 and competed at 9 consecutive Canadian Finals Rodeos in the Ladies Barrel Race.
Monica was the ladies barrel racing director for the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association 13 years. She was very instrumental in getting ladies equality at the CFR and at the Calgary Stampede.
She has been very involved in administration positions within the sport including secretary for the Indian Rodeo Cowboys Association for 12 years. She won the acclaimed Guy Weadick award at the Calgary Stampede in 1996, which is awarded to an individual who best shows sportsmanship, ability and leadership qualities. To date she is the only woman to receive this honor. Also, she won the “Cowboy of the Year” in the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, which is awarded for ability, leadership and rodeo accomplishments.
In 2003 she was honored by being invited to judge the Miss Rodeo America contest in Las Vegas. She is the only Canadian to have every been asked to complete this prestigious task.
Monica is a very successful horse woman and today trains barrel horses and hosts workshops and clinics for beginners in the sport. She is the administrator of the South Country Barrel Futurity and hosts this successful event every spring.

Traci (Bevans) Aipperspach grew up in Cardston and started her successful rodeo career as a young girl in this community. She competed in local jackpots and Southern Circuit Rodeos which prepared her for a successful high school rodeo career including 4 trips to the National High School Rodeo Finals. In 1999 she was crowned the Alberta High School Rodeo Rookie of the Year. Goat tying was a strong event for Traci, seeing her win the Alberta and Canadian Goat Tying Championships. These titles took her to more college championships in Goat Tying as the Montana Region Champion and College NationalFinals Qualifier.
Traci is also an accomplished roper, qualifying for the Chinook Finals numerous times in the break away roping and winning the CGRA Breakaway Roping Reserve Championship in 2007. She is an all around cowgirl, demonstrated by her qualifications in 6 events for the Canadian Girls Rodeo Association Finals.
Traci received her teaching certificate and now teaches elementary school at Cardston Elementary. She is a goat tying and breakaway roping instructor for the Sports Performance Division of the Westwind Rodeo Academy.
