Background:

The Equine Industry is one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world.  Not only are horses a great source of recreation and exercise, they are a significant contributor to the economics of society.  Hundreds of employment and entrepreneurial positions are available which are directly related to horses.  The vision of the Academy is to give the student the opportunity to interact with horses and receive an in depth education related to horses, rodeo and equine related sports and industries.  From ranching to reining, we will offer the students a well rounded education.  We will train their minds and bodies, while the horses inspire their souls.

The goal of the Academy is to offer the students additional options for employment and possibly encourage them to become an entreprenuer within the industry.  While receiving this education, they will enjoy the interaction with the horses and the thrill of competition and accomplishment as they learn and grow with their equine companions.

We foresee this program adding to the high school experience in a very positive way and in some situations, encouraging students to continue their studies.  We plan to offer students the opportunity to attend college with scholarships due to their ability in the arena. The academy is not only about rodeo, but if the student wishes to excel in this sport, there is no better place in North America to prepare for competition.  We will offer access to the best in the business, and the students of the Westwind Rodeo Academy will learn from the elite.  We look forward to visiting with you about how the WRA can assist you in making your dreams come true.
